Equipment

  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board
  • Medium-sized mixing bowl
  • Spoon

Ingredients

  • 8 oz of fresh mushrooms
  • 1 cup of mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup of sour cream
  • 1/4 cup of chopped scallions
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth and slice them thinly. Finely chop the scallions and mince the garlic.
  • In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, scallions, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well until the ingredients are well-combined.
  • Add the sliced mushrooms to the bowl and stir until they are evenly coated with the mixture.
  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the dip for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  • When ready to serve, give the dip a quick stir and transfer it to a serving bowl.
  • Serve with chips, crackers, or vegetables.

Notes

  • Use fresh mushrooms for the best texture and flavor.
  • If desired, use a food processor to chop the mushrooms and scallions for a smoother dip.
  • Customize the seasoning by adjusting the amount of salt, pepper, or garlic according to your taste.
  • Chilling the dip for at least 30 minutes enhances the flavors.
  • The dip can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two days, but it's best served fresh. Add the mushrooms just before serving if making it ahead of time.
