Equipment

  • Cutting board and knife
  • Mixing bowl and spoon
  • Baking dish or oven-safe serving dish
  • Oven or microwave

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup of sour cream
  • 1/4 cup of chopped scallions
  • 2 cloves of garlic minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth and thinly slice them. Finely chop the scallions and mince the garlic.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced mushrooms, mayonnaise, sour cream, chopped scallions, and minced garlic. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Transfer the mixture to a baking dish or oven-safe serving dish, spreading it out evenly. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and hot. Alternatively, microwave on high for 3-5 minutes, or until heated through.
  • Remove the dip from the oven or microwave and let it cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with crackers, chips, or toasted bread.

Notes

  • Experiment with different mushroom varieties for added flavor and texture.
  • Consider adding shredded cheese, such as cheddar, Parmesan, or Gruyere, for a more indulgent dip.
  • Roasting the garlic before mincing can enhance the flavor.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs like parsley, chives, or thyme for extra color and taste.
  • Serve with fresh vegetables as a healthier option.
  • The dip can be made ahead of time and refrigerated until ready to bake or microwave.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Do not freeze.
