1/2 cups canned sweet potatoes or 2 to 3 roasted, peeled, and pureed sweet potatoes
3/4 cup sugar
2 large eggs
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter, softened
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Pinch salt
1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell, homemade or store-bought
Instructions
Please turn on the oven and preheat it to 375 degrees Fahrenheit
To make a sweet potato pie ahead of time, cook the sweet potatoes and mash them until they are soft and creamy.
Once the potatoes are mashed, mix them with the other ingredients, such as cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, and butter. Pour the mixture into a prepared pie crust, and bake in a preheated oven.
After mixing the potatoes with the other ingredients, pour the mixture into the pie shell and the remaining sugar. Afterward, allow the pie to rise for 15 minutes before putting it inside the oven.
Place the pie into the preheated oven at 375 degrees and leave for 45 to 50 minutes. To check if it’s done, insert a knife or toothpick into the center of the pie. If it comes out clean, then it’s done.
