Chuck Roast Recipe with Slow-Cooking Method

Ingredients
  

  • 3 to 4 pounds of chuck roast
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 cups of beef broth
  • 1 cup of red wine (optional)
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tablespoon of dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon of paprika
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic and cook until the onion is translucent about 5 minutes.
  • Add the chuck roast and brown on all sides, about 3 minutes per side.
  • Add the beef broth, red wine (if using), bay leaves, thyme, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  • Bring the mixture to a simmer, cover the Dutch oven, and transfer it to a preheated oven at 325°F.
  • Cook for 3 to 4 hours or until the meat is tender and falls apart easily.
