Prepare the ingredients: add the garlic powder, pepper, salt, seasoning, and smoked paprika to a mixing bowl.
Remove the t-bone steak from the fridge, bring it to room temperature, and set it on a cooking board about 20 minutes before the cooking time.
Prepare the oven and preheat it to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Pat the T-bone steak dry with a paper towel (it is not ideal to use parchment paper).
Brush the T-bone steaks with oil on every side.
Season the oiled steaks thoroughly with the preferred steak blend, rub, or seasonings.
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil (ensure the sheet is rimmed).
Place the seasoned T-bone steaks on the top shelf of the oven, 6 inches from the heating element.
Broil for 5 to 8 minutes or until they develop a brown crust. If you’re broiling a thick steak, flip it and allow it to broil for another 6 minutes. If the steaks are thin, broil for 3 to 5 minutes.
Then, allow cooking for about 6–8 minutes, tossing once halfway through the cooking time or until the steak’s internal temperature reaches about 5-10 degrees Fahrenheit below the set temperature (depending on the desired level of doneness; check the temperature guide for more).
Once the T-bone steaks are done, remove them from the oven.
Afterward, place the cooked T-bone steaks on a cooking board and loosely wrap the cooked steaks with aluminum foil. You can drizzle the steak with butter to add more flavor and juice.
Allow for about 8 or 10 minutes of rest.
Finally, cut the steaks and serve them in sliced or full pieces with your desired side dish, steak rub, or sauce.
