Season the ribs with your preferred dry rub or seasoning blend.
Add a small amount of liquid to the slow cooker. It can be chicken broth, barbecue sauce, or apple cider vinegar. The liquid will help keep the meat moist and flavorful.
Place the ribs in the slow cooker, meaty side down.
Cook on low heat for 6-8 hours or on high heat for 3-4 hours. The exact cooking time may vary depending on the size of the ribs and your slow cooker.
After the cooking time is up, carefully remove the ribs from the slow cooker and brush them with additional barbecue sauce, if desired.
Although optional, you can finish the ribs on the grill or under the broiler to caramelize the barbecue sauce and give them a lovely sear.
