Stove Cooked Pork Chop Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 sprigs of fresh thyme (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Remove the pork chops from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Season the pork chops generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.
  • Once the oil is hot, add the pork chops to the skillet and cook on each side for 3-4 minutes or until nicely browned.
  • Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the butter, garlic, and thyme to the skillet.
  • Spoon the butter over the pork chops and continue to cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) for medium doneness.
  • Remove the pork chops from the skillet and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
  • Serve the pork chops with your favorite side dishes, and enjoy!
