Instant Pot Cooked Steak Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 2 steaks (your preferred cut and size)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or red wine (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Set your Instant Pot to the sauté function and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  • Season both sides of the steak with salt and pepper.
  • Once the Instant Pot is hot, place the steaks and sear them for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
  • Remove the steaks from the Instant Pot and set them aside.
  • Add 1/2 cup of beef broth or red wine to the Instant Pot and deglaze the bottom, scraping up any brown bits.
  • Place the trivet in the Instant Pot and the steaks on top of the trivet.
  • Close the Instant Pot lid and set the pressure valve to sealing.
  • Set the Instant Pot to manual or pressure cook mode and cook the steak for the recommended time based on the thickness of the steak and desired level of doneness.
  • Once the cooking time is up, release the pressure naturally for 5-10 minutes, then quickly release the remaining pressure.
  • Carefully remove the steaks from the Instant Pot and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Always use a meat thermometer to ensure the steak is cooked to your desired level of doneness.
