Season both sides of the steak with salt and pepper.
Once the Instant Pot is hot, place the steaks and sear them for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
Remove the steaks from the Instant Pot and set them aside.
Add 1/2 cup of beef broth or red wine to the Instant Pot and deglaze the bottom, scraping up any brown bits.
Place the trivet in the Instant Pot and the steaks on top of the trivet.
Close the Instant Pot lid and set the pressure valve to sealing.
Set the Instant Pot to manual or pressure cook mode and cook the steak for the recommended time based on the thickness of the steak and desired level of doneness.
Once the cooking time is up, release the pressure naturally for 5-10 minutes, then quickly release the remaining pressure.
Carefully remove the steaks from the Instant Pot and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
