Oven Cooked Steak Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • Steak (your desired cut and thickness)
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Olive oil
  • Garlic (optional)
  • Thyme (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  • Remove the steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  • Pat steak dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Heat a skillet over high heat and add a tablespoon of olive oil.
  • Sear steak on both sides for 1-2 minutes until a brown crust forms.
  • Transfer the steak to the lined baking sheet.
  • If desired, add minced garlic and thyme on top of the steak.
  • Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes for medium-rare, 12-15 minutes for medium, or 15-18 minutes for well done.
  • Let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
