Step-By-Step Guide on How to Cook Ribs in an Instant Pot

Ingredients
  

  • Ribs (baby back, spare, St. Louis style, etc.)
  • Barbecue sauce (or any other desired sauce or seasoning)
  • Water
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Pepper and salt (to taste)
  • The ribs’ seasonings include garlic, onion, brown sugar, paprika, cumin, chili powder, etc.

Instructions
 

  • Take off the silver skin from the ribs’ backs (some may prefer cooking with the skin).
  • Apply your favorite dry rub or seasoning to the ribs.
  • Add 1 cup of water or broth (sauce/stock) to the instant pot.
  • Place the ribs bone-side down on the trivet of the instant pot.
  • Set the valve to sealing and close the instant pot cover.
  • Set the instant pot to manual high pressure for 25 to 30 minutes.
  • After cooking the ribs, let the pressure cool for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Carefully lift the top to release the ribs from the pressure cooker.
  • You can optionally brush your preferred barbecue sauce on the ribs and broil them for a few minutes to caramelize the sauce.

Remember that cooking times may vary depending on the size and thickness of the ribs, as well as your preference for doneness. Always ensure the ribs reach a safe internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) before consuming them.
