- 1 cup raw cashews
- 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 tablespoons tapioca starch
- 1 teaspoon agar agar powder
- 2 cups water
Soak the cashews in water for at least 2 hours or overnight. Drain and rinse.
In a high-speed blender, combine the cashews, nutritional yeast, lemon juice, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, tapioca starch, and 1 cup of water. Blend until smooth.
In a saucepan, bring the remaining 1 cup of water to a boil. Add the agar agar powder and stir until it dissolves.
Add the cashew mixture to the saucepan and whisk until well combined.
